Burlington, VT - The Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center and Auggie's Island Grill will host a benefit and provide the best seats in town for the Burlington Fireworks to raise money for the Mike McConnell Youth Scholarship Fund on July 3rd.

A $5 suggested donation to enter, kids under 12 free, provides entrance into an area around the sailing center where there will be food and beverage available for sale. The menu will consist of burgers, hot dogs, sausage & peppers/onions, pasta salad, chicken caesar wraps and more, with a cash bar that will include beer, wine, and Auggie's famous "Hurricane" cocktail. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver to watch the fireworks from the Center's new 200 foot dock.

The Community Sailing Center is pleased to offer scholarships through our Scholarship Fund for any of our sailing programs. Any youth sailor whose family is in need of assistance is eligible for this Scholarship. If financial obligations preclude a family's ability to introduce their child to the joys of sailing, the Sailing Center is discreet and very happy to offer this opportunity. In 2007, the Community Sailing Center was able to provide over $2000 of scholarship money to local families and youth.

The Community Sailing Center partners with local organizations to provide sailing opportunities to thousands of at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth, those who are physically challenged and others every summer. CSC also provides social activities, youth camps, adult instruction, rental and storage, racing and volunteer opportunities.

For additional information please contact Kate Neubauer, Executive Director, Community Sailing Center.

The Community Sailing Center is an award winning, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. CSC has provided educational and recreational sailing programs to those who wish to gain access to Lake Champlain and learn to sail; regardless of age, physical ability or financial concerns for over 13 years.
