Community Sailing Center is host to the NVHSST, a community-wide sailing program open to any high school student in good standing at a public or private high school in Chittenden or surrounding counties.
All sailors are welcome whatever their sailing or racing experience. Any sailors, parents or school administrators, who are interested in learning more, please call the Community Sailing Center. Northern Vermont High School Sailing Team is coached by Rachael Miller. She has a breadth of experience on the water all over the world racing Lasers and Europe Dinghies, as a member of the Brown University Sailing Team and on a variety of big boats. She was the first coach of the NVHSST and while she currently owns and operates Stormboarding (windsurfing and kiteboarding instruction) and Shipwrecktour.com (ROV-supported underwater exploration), she keeps on top of small boat sailing as a US Sailing Instructor Trainer, Coach Trainer and a member of the National Faculty. She holds a USCG Masters License and in the winter, when not snowkiting, can be found skiing at Mad River Glen. Spring Season - April 28-June 4 Practice dates: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays
Regattas: Saturday April 19 Team race @ Portsmouth Abbey, NH (All sailors must have wet or dry suits for this regatta)
Clothing and Gear: Some regattas require dry or wet suits - obviously that is for cold water. We also require that for you to sail in the spring. You must have a dry suit or at least good foul weather gear, ideally over a wetsuit. (This spring we have received some very good deal offers on gear)
Please bring completed registration form and waiver to the first practice. |
